Residential Landscaping Project

This residential customer wanted an outdoor living area to entertain and watch football (the Eagles!) outside in the fall. He was looking to have a covered seating area with a bar top for eating and watching the game. He also wanted an outdoor fire circle and seating wall for his grandkids to enjoy as well as well as his wife.

Our construction process was to excavate for the patio and pour concrete peers for the covered gazebo and a concrete pad for the bar. We then installed our stone based and prepared for the pavers and sitting wall.  The sitting wall and bar area are constructed from Techo-bloc mini-creta 3-inch and 6-inch wall block. We used a standard wall cap to cap the sitting wall along with a foot rest in the bar island. The project features a granite top for the bar, as well as under-counter lighting for the bar and lighting for the sitting wall.

The installation included a fire circle with a Zentro smokeless fire ring. The Zentro provides less smoke than normal wood fires, as it recirculates the smoke through its inner liner and actually burns it off.

We chose the Mista paver from Techo-Bloc in Sandlewood color for this project. Although we used the mista paver in an impervious surface for this project, we can use the Mista paver for permeable projects as well. It is registered as an acceptable permeable paver solution for areas that are limited in adding impervious area. For this project, we created a rain garden right off the side of the patio to handle any water runoff.  Many people have misconceptions about a rain garden. It looks like a regular mulch bed with plantings that are suitable for wet conditions.  We then installed a polymeric joint sand in the paver joint.

We had the gazebo installed by another local company to finish off the project.
